Signed & Framed Photos
Back in 2007, my wife and I built our home and I really wanted to have a Sports Bar in our basement for 1) entertainment purposes and 2) to show off my Sports memorabilia. My memorabilia includes jerseys, helmets, gloves, signed 8x10s and even my NFL Cereal Box collection. Yes, you read that right. In this section, I display my favorite Signed and Framed photos. Not all of my photos are displayed. I ran outta room.
Signed & Framed Photos:
The Fearsome Foursome - Los Angeles Rams (Shown Left)
Not only did my wife get this one for me as well, but she got it for me at a very good price. This black & white photo of the "Fearsome Foursome" is one my most favorite items that I have displayed.
Signed & Framed 8X10s:
The 8X10 Wall - Vikings, Cardinals, Saints, Lions, Buccaneers (Shown Left)
For a very long while, I bought and put together my very own wall mounted plaques. Until I ran outta wall space. Other than the Vikings and Cardinals, I only collected players that I liked. That is why you might notice a roque photo of the Lions or Saints up there on the wall. I am still looking for that very hard to find Sam Mills Saints signed 8X10.
Signed & Framed Photos:
Killer Bees - Miami Dolphins (Shown Left)
I don't collect just 8x10s, although they are the easiest to find. Sometimes, the photos are larger and sometimes, they come in a colloge, like the "Killer Bees" came to me. Put this extra-large photo into the "My wife got it for me category."
Signed & Framed Ticket w/ Beckett Price Guide #121:
Randy Moss & Cris Carter - Minnesota Vikings (Shown Left)
Back in April of 2000, I was in a local card store when I saw the latest Beckett price guide. The Vikings were on the cover. Randy Moss and Cris Carter graced the cover with the words, "Catch us if you can." I had to have it. So I bought the issue and went home. It wasn't until later that I noticed that not only were the Vikings on the cover, but also my story that I wrote to Dan Hitt, (Beckett's then editor-in-chief), about my chance meeting with James Lofton that previous fall while on a flight to Phoenix. What are the odds? So, I had it all framed.
Framed Joey Browner Interception:
From a 1987 game at Milwaukee County Stadium (Shown Left)
This was another item that my wife got for me. The neat thing about this photo is that it was once displayed in the Vikings locker room. I have no idea how my wife obtains some of these items, it's just that she does somehow.
My Tribute to the Female Athletes
With all the shit going on in the world, I still know what a woman is. This section is dedicated to those very special female athletes that inspire and motivate us to be better people and athletes.
Framed Amber Smith Photoshoot:
From a 2000s photoshoot to promo the lingerie league (Shown Left)
Although Amber Smith didn't play in the lingerie football league, the girls who did play were incredible athletes. They played tough. Did I add sexy too?
Framed Manon Rheaume Photoshoot:
From a 1992 photoshoot that introduced Rheaume as the 1st Woman of Hockey (Shown Left)
Tampa Bay Lightning founder and president Phil Esposito was very clear about why he invited Manon Rhéaume to training camp in 1992.
It was a publicity stunt.
Publicity stunt or not, the NHL was expanding into Florida for the first time, where the sport hadn't taken off yet, so the idea wasn't terrible. It certainly drew a lot of attention.
Rhéaume, though, wasn't bothered by the ploy. She was more than willing to jump at the chance to join the Lightning — something that later made her the first woman to play in a major American sports league.
Framed Mia St John Photoshoot:
From a 2005 photoshoot that promoted her lightweight world title (Shown Left)
In 2017 Mia retired after accumulating an unheard-of boxing record of nearly 70 pro fights and five world and international titles.
She continues to speak at Universities, High Schools and Congress about overcoming obstacles, such as poverty and addiction.
Currently, her new book Fighting for My Life: A Memoir about a Mother's Loss and Grief is out now.
Framed Katrina Witt 8X10:
From a 1988 photoshoot of the german woman's figure skater (Shown Left)
Katarina Witt became a figure-skating champion and a symbol of her country's regime during the Cold War. From 1983-88, she won six European Championships, four World Championships, and two Olympic gold medals.
Witt vaulted into the international spotlight when she beat favored American champion, Rosalynn Sumners, by one-hundredth of a point to win the gold medal in the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. She dominated the sport over the next half-decade, combining her technical skills with a dazzling flair for showmanship that enthralled judges and audience members.
Witt retired from competitive amateur skating after winning her final World Championship in 1988, but she returned to qualify for the 1994 Winter Games in Lillehammer, Norway.
